Procedures Include:
Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for: Diagnosis, sterilisation, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, hysterectomy, division of adhesions etc.
Hysteroscopic surgery (camera to look inside the womb), often as an outpatient for: Diagnosis of bleeding problems, removal of polyps, Novasure endometrial ablation, difficult coil removals and fittings.
Conventional operating: hysterectomies, myomectomy (fibroid removal), large ovarian cysts, vaginal repairs for prolapses.
Qualifications: MBBS, FRCOG, MRCGP, DCH and DFFP.
I completed my degree at St Bartholomew's Medical School then in 1991 and initially became a GP in Oxfordshire before transferring to Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
I was a fellow in Minimal Access (Keyhole) Surgery at the Royal Free Hospital in London for 2 years honing my skills and setting up a one stop menstrual problems clinic.
I became a consultant at the Derriford Hospital in 2004 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011.
